As a young actor, you go on lots of auditions. You receive the script, you study the character, you learn the lines, you do the prep work, and then you do your best at the audition...and that’s it. Often you don’t hear anything about that casting again. Sometimes you get a callback, and then you review everything you did for the original audition, or sometimes they give you new things to learn.
Sometimes, you actually book the job. And that’s when the real fun begins.
Recently I booked the title tole in a short film called “Stewart” and it was a wonderful experience: an interesting script, a fun character and great people to work with. Although I was only on set for a weekend, I learned so much from the people around me, from getting into character to the process of putting together all the elements of a movie. I can’t wait to see the finished film!
