Models always need to keep their portfolio updated, and that means new photos once or twice a year. As a kid, I’m always growing, sometimes my hair is longer or shorter, or my proportions are different. You need a range of photos showing different looks, in different types of wardrobe.
But wait....actors need new photos too....and acting photos are different from modeling photos.
And theater photos are different too!
What to do?
I find myself taking new photos regularly to meet the different needs of the various types of casting I attend - for print, runway, commercial, theatrical, and theater. Most people don’t need so many different photos, but I do on a regular basis, so I try to keep all these looks up to date. Luckily, most photographers can do some of these different photos for my needs, and sometimes I’m lucky to get a few photos that can meet more than one use. Fortunately there are several photographers I rely on for the various photos I need; you can see some of their work on my modeling page and I look forward to working with them again. Each one has their own look or mood, which gives my portfolio depth and interest.
I really needed some new modeling shots, so we got in touch with Elizabeth Pettey, who is an amazing photographer and also the digital photo editor at Babiekins Magazine. She is upbeat and so much fun to work with, and her photos, perfectly lit and composed, also have a great energy to them. We had fun working together, and the photos came out great!
